Equipment

  • Wok or large frying pan
  • Small bowl for mixing sauce
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife for slicing beef and vegetables

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced into strips
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 medium bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Prepare the Beef: Marinate the beef in soy sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar for about 15-30 minutes.
Stir-fry the Beef: Heat oil in a large pan or wok. Add the beef and stir-fry until crispy and golden brown.
Add the Vegetables: Toss in the broccoli, bell pepper, and onion. Stir-fry until vegetables are tender-crisp.
Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together more soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and brown sugar. Pour over the cooked beef and veggies, tossing to coat evenly.
Cook Everything Together: Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is well coated.
Serve: Serve the Beijing Beef over steamed rice or your favorite side dish. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Customize with Vegetables: Feel free to add other vegetables like carrots, snow peas, or baby corn to suit your taste.
  • For Extra Crunch: If you like extra crispy beef, coat the beef strips in cornstarch before stir-frying.
